Police are appealing for information following the armed robbery of a service station at West Wollongong this morning.
About 12:50am, Tuesday 21 October 2014, two men, armed with an axe, entered the service station on Crown Street and threatened a 30-year-old man who was working in the store.
The pair stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene. The employee was not injured during the robbery.
Police were called to the service station and established a crime scene which was examined by specialist forensic officers.
Detectives from Wollongong Local Area Command are continuing investigations and are appealing for information to identify and locate the two men involved.
The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid 20s, 160-165cm tall with a thin build and wearing a black hooded jumper, dark trousers and black joggers.
The second man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 20s, 180-185cm tall with a medium build and wearing a black hooded jumper and carrying a black bag.
Both men had their faces covered at the time of the robbery.
