Police from a strike force investigating a series of armed robberies on the south coast have today arrested and charged a woman.

Detectives from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command established Strike Force Marroo to investigate the armed raids on businesses which occurred between May and September last year.

The six armed robberies occurred at a fast food restaurant in Unanderra, a golf club in Port Kembla, a supermarket in Gerringong and Bomaderry, a bowling club in Dapto and a bottle shop in Lake Heights.

Detectives today (Thursday 23 October), arrested a 35-year-old woman on Todd Street in Warrawong.

She has been interviewed and charged with four counts of armed robbery, two counts of break-and-enter and an outstanding warrant.

The woman has been refused bail and is set to appear at Port Kembla Local Court tomorrow (Friday 24 October).
