Police are investigating the armed robbery of a hotel at Blacktown overnight.

Just after 2am (Friday 31 October 2014), a man entered the hotel on Killdare Road armed with a firearm.

The man, who had his face concealed, approached and threatened three staff members while demanding money.

He fled with a large sum of cash.

Police were alerted and officers from Blacktown Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The hotel was closed at the time of the incident and no one was injured.

An investigation is underway and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or suspicious activity in the area, to come forward.
