Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery of a shop at Padstow today.
About 1pm (Sunday 9 November 2014), a 53-year-old woman was working at the counter of the fruit shop on Alma Road, Padstow, when a man entered the store.
The man allegedly threatened the woman with a knife and demanded cash. The woman picked up a chair and held it in front of her.
The man ran from the location empty handed onto Faraday Road, Padstow.
The attendant contacted police and Bankstown Local Area Command attended commencing an investigation.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Officers would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their investigation, he was described as Mediterranean/Middle Eastern in appearance, about 170cm tall, slim build, aged in his 20’s and was wearing a fluoro orange bucket hat, black jumper with a white emblem on the front, black shorts and black shoes with white socks.
