Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a petrol station in Gympie last night.

Police were called to a business on Wickham Street about 9.50pm after a man entered the store and produced a knife.

He demanded money and cigarettes from the attendant, who complied, and the man then fled the scene on foot.

The attendant wasn’t physically injured as a result of the robbery.

The man was dressed all in black, wearing a balaclava, black gloves and white shoes.

Investigations are continuing.
