Police are investigating the armed robbery of a betting outlet at Springwood this morning.
Around 11.45am a man entered the Dennis Road premises before approaching a male staff member, producing a firearm and demanding he hand over cash.
The employee complied with his demands and the man fled the scene on foot with a sum of cash.
There were no customers at the address at the time and no one was physically injured.
The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 180cm tall with a slim build and was wearing dark sunglasses and a blue chequered piece of material covering his face.
