Police are appealing for information from the public following an armed robbery at Bellbird last night.

About 9pm (Monday 8 December 2014), a man wearing a balaclava entered the service station on Wollombi Road armed with a knife. He threatened the console operator before jumping over the counter.

The armed man removed cash and cigarettes before leaving the store.

A crime scene was established and investigations are continuing.

The man is described as wearing black track pants with a white stripe down the side, black jumper with white writing , blue joggers and carrying a lime green backpack.

Officers have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
