At 10.40pm a man allegedly attended the Nicolson Avenue store and assaulted two staff members outside. The man then forced entry to the store by kicking a door open.

Once inside the store, he threatened another staff member and demanded money. The man fled on foot with an amount of cash.

Police sighted the man shortly after and while trying to arrest him, the man assaulted the two officers, with one receiving minor injuries to his face.

The 18-year-old man from Whyalla Norrie was charged with aggravated robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, assault to cause harm and hindering and resisting arrest. The man was refused bail and will appear in the Whyalla Magistrates Court tomorrow.
