Police have released CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries, as they investigate the armed robbery of a supermarket by a ‘cat burglar’ look-alike, in Mount Hutton last week.

Just before 12am (Monday 29 December 2014), a man entered a supermarket on Wilsons Road and approached a woman at the service counter.

Police have been told the man threatened the woman and a fellow employee with a knife.

He fled the scene a short time later, taking cash. No one was injured during the incident.

Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Local Area Command were called and commenced investigations.

He has been described as possibly being of Caucasian appearance, and was seen wearing a black lycra body stocking over his body, with black gloves with blue finger tips.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident is urged to come forward and contact Lake Macquarie Police via Crime Stoppers.
