A man has been charged after investigations into the robbery of a Clayfield convenience store this evening.

It will be alleged shortly after 11pm a man armed with a knife threatened staff at a Sandgate Road business before fleeing with a sum of cash. A man was arrested by police nearby.

No one was injured during the incident.

A 20-year-old Scarborough man has been charged with armed robbery and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Police investigations are continuing.
