Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a financial institution on Sir John Overall Drive this afternoon.
Initial investigations suggest around 1.50pm, a man entered the Helensvale business and threatened an employee behind the counter with what is believed to be a firearm.
The man demanded money but was unsuccessful and left empty handed.
The man is described as Caucasian, around 170 centimetres tall, of a heavy build, wearing black gloves, an orange rain jacket, light blue jeans, a green or yellow baseball cap and running shoes.
