Police are investigating after a man was stabbed during an attempted armed robbery in Merrylands last night.
About 7.50pm (Sunday 8 February 2015), a 41-year-old man was leaving a restaurant on Merrylands Road, when he was approached by a man who allegedly demanded cash.
An altercation took place before the man allegedly produced a knife and stabbed the 41-year-old in the arm, and ran away empty handed.
Emergency services were called and the 41-year-old was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital with a laceration to his arm.
His injury is not considered life-threatening.
A crime scene was established and police from Holroyd Local Area Command are investigating the incident.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
