Police are appealing for information as they investigate an armed robbery in Surry Hills overnight.
Just after 11.30pm (Friday 20 February 2014), a man armed with a knife entered a convenience store on Elizabeth Street and threatened a staff member, demanding money.
Police have been told the armed man then demanded the employee’s wallet, before a short scuffle ensued between the pair.
The armed man ran from the scene towards Brumby Street, taking cash.
The employee was uninjured during the incident and contacted police.
Officers attached to Surry Hills Local Area Command are investigating the incident and as they continue their inquiries, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them.
He is described as having a dark complexion, about 180-185cm tall, with an athletic build.
The man was seen wearing black woollen gloves, a dark-grey hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants and white runners with black and blue soles.
