Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at Darling Harbour on Friday.

About 4.50pm (Friday 27 February 2015), a man entered the reception of the Chinese Garden of Friendship on Pier Street and threatened a female receptionist.

Police have been told the man, who was armed with a firearm, demanded money.

Fearing for her safety, the receptionist moved to the back of the office and the man ran from the store with no proceeds.

He was last seen running south across a pedestrian foot bridge leading from Darling Harbour to Liverpool Street.

Police from Sydney City Local Area Command attended the location and established a crime scene.

Detectives would now like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man has been described as being of Asian appearance, aged between 40 and 50 years old, 165 to 170cm tall, with black hair.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket with white trim around the collar, blue jeans, a grey or black baseball cap, black sunglasses, and black shoes.
