Detectives are investigating following an armed robbery at a Werribee convenience store this morning.

Police have been told that a man armed with a handgun entered the convenience store on Synnot Street around 2.40am.

It’s believed the man threatened the staff member and forced him to hand over an amount of cash, before fleeing the scene.

No one was injured during the incident

Investigators have reviewed CCTV in the area and have released footage and images of a person they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall with dark hair.

He was wearing a light coloured hoodie over a dark jumper and blue pants.
