Detectives from Fawkner Embona are investigating following an armed robbery at a service station in Ascot Vale last month.

It’s believed that just after 3.00am on Sunday 15 February an attendant was washing petrol pumps at the service station on Epsom Road when he was saw two men heading towards him.

Fearing the worst, the man turned to run back inside the store however the masked men caught up with him and forced him inside while threatening the attendant with small weapons.

Once inside, the men made demands for cash and cigarettes.

Once the attendant met their demands, both men fled on foot down Epsom Road where it’s believed they got into a car that then drove west along Maribyrnong Road.

Police have released CCTV and images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Both men are perceived as being of African appearance, in their late teens to early 20s, with slim build and approximately 167cm – 172cm tall.

Both were wearing dark hooded jumpers, patterned bandanas and white peaked caps at the time.

One of the men was wearing khaki pants and the other was wearing dark-coloured pants.
