Police have arrested and charged a 20-year-old man from Birkenhead with aggravated robbery and investigations continue to identify the second suspect involved.

At about 6.45am, police will allege two men entered On the Run service station on Victoria Road and stole items from the aisles.

As the men tried to leave the store, they were confronted by a staff member who demanded they pay for the items.  The pair allegedly punched and kicked the staff member before running off. The employee called police and he was later treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

After further enquiries, police were able to identify one of the suspects involved. Police managed to locate him and he was arrested. He was released on police bail and is expected to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 29 April 2015.

Police continue investigations to help identify the second suspect involved.  He is described as a man, aged in his early 20’s, approximately 172cm tall with short dark hair. He was wearing light coloured pants, a black top and a black baseball cap.
