Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a service station in Cleveland last night.

At about 10.45pm two men armed with a knife entered through the back door of the Gordon Street business, and demanded money from the 44-year-old male attendant.

The attendant complied and the men left the store with a sum of cash and a quantity of cigarettes.

The men ran out of the back entrance and were last seen heading north along Gordon Street.

The attendant was not physically injured during the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
