Police are appealing for information after the armed robbery of a finance business in Hurstville yesterday evening.
Shortly after 6.30pm (Thursday 26 March 2015), a man entered the premises on Forest Road and threatened a staff member with a firearm while demanding cash.
The staff member removed a cash tray from a drawer and placed it on a counter before running to a secure staff area at the rear of the premises.
She was not injured during the incident.
The man took cash and fled the location; he was last seen running east along Forest Road toward Hurstville Railway Station.
Officers attached to St George Local Area Command were alerted and launched an investigation into the incident.
A crime scene was established and examined by detectives and specialist forensic officers.
Police also conducted extensive patrols of the surrounding area; however the man was not found.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing and police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist in the investigation.
The man is described as being of Asian appearance, about 40-50 years of age and was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, with a green-coloured surgical mask covering his mouth and nose.
