Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested and charged a man following an armed robbery at a service station in Watervale last month.

The man was allegedly dressed in female clothing when he entered a service station on Taylors Road just before 7.30pm on Monday 30 March.

He allegedly produced what appeared to be a home-made machine gun from a black bag and demanded money.

A 23-year-old Taylors Hill man was arrested yesterday and charged with one count of armed robbery.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
