Update: Two men have been arrested and charged after a hold-up in Erindale early this morning
At 12.40am this morning Police responded to a report of a robbery at a petrol station in Erindale.
Upon arrival it was discovered that two men had entered the store and stolen cash and cigarettes. During the robbery, an attendant received minor injuries when he was struck in the wrist with a pole. The suspects fled the scene in a stolen car.
About five minutes later, the car was spotted by STAR Group patrols on Main North Road at Medindie. Police signalled for the car to stop on Barton Terrace at North Adelaide, but it sped off onto Torrens Road.
Police with the assistance of the Police Helicopter (PolAir) pursued the car through numerous backstreets to Port Road and to Henley Beach Road.
It was then followed to Anzac Highway where it travelled south down Morphett Road, to Seacombe Road and then Brighton Road.
The car eventually made its way back to Camden Park, where it was dumped on Carlisle Street and the offenders ran from the car.
One suspect was caught in a nearby yard by patrols.
Cordons were put in place by patrols and with the assistance of Police Dogs Bosco and Ruger the second offender was found hiding in an adjoining street inside a wheelie bin.
Initial enquiries have revealed the car was stolen from a house break-in on Friday 10 April at Camden Park.
