Police are investigating an armed robbery at a service station at Menai this morning.
Shortly after 1.30am (Sunday 3 May 2015), a man entered a service station on Menai Road and approached the 30-year-old male console operator.
The man who had his face covered removed a backpack and placed his hand inside.
After the offender demanded cash, the employee complied, handing over a quantity of money.
The offender fled from the store and was last seen running towards Menai Road.
Police from Sutherland Local Area Command attended and conducted a search for the man but he was able to evade officers.
The employee was not injured during the robbery.
Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward and a description of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries has been released.
The man was of Caucasian appearance and between 20 and 25-years-old. He had a black beard and was wearing a grey hooded tracksuit top and pants with white sneakers.
His face was covered with black material and he carried a black and red backpack.
