Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery of a convenience store in Bankstown last night.
About 10.45pm, (Sunday 10 May 2015), three males entered the convenience store on Stacey Street, two allegedly armed with cricket bats and another allegedly armed with a hacksaw.
Initial investigations suggest they allegedly threatened staff before fleeing from the scene empty-handed, after hearing a siren from a nearby ambulance.
They were last seen driving from the scene in a dark coloured car described as being similar to a Toyota Corolla.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police from Bankstown Local Area Command conducted a patrol of the area, however, were unable to find the three males or the car.
A crime scene was established. Investigations into the incident are continuing and police are hoping to speak with three males who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The second male is described as being approximately 180cm tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a dark hooded jumper, dark pants, a black balaclava, and was carrying a wooden cricket bat.
The last male is described as being about 185 to 190cm tall, with a large build. He was wearing a black hooded jumper, dark pants, black balaclava, and was also carrying a wooden cricket bat.
