Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a service station at Nambucca Heads last night.
Shortly after 7pm (Tuesday 12 May 2015), a man entered the back door of the Mann Street service station as the attendant was taking rubbish outside.
The man pushed the attendant over and threatened her with scissors while demanding cash.
She was able to get up and ran back into the store with the man following her to the console area.
A short time later the man fled the location with an amount of cash and the attendant’s wallet.
Nambucca Police were contacted and launched an investigation into the incident. A crime scene was established at the service station and was examined by detectives.
Police also conducted extensive patrols of the surrounding area; however the man was not located.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing and police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist in the investigation.
The man is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance and about 160cm tall with a muscular build.
He was last seen wearing lime green coloured shorts, a black and white striped hooded jumper and brown coloured ‘skate’ shoes. He also wore white gloves, sunglasses and an ‘Australian Flag’ bandana covering the lower half of his face.
