Police have charged a 30-year-old man from the Glass House Mountains following the alleged armed robbery of a bottle shop yesterday evening.

It will be alleged the man entered the bottle shop on Bruce Parade in the Glass House Mountains at around 6:00pm yesterday and threatened a female staff member with a syringe, demanding money.

He then allegedly fled the business on foot with a sum of cash. Police located and arrested the man a short time later.

The man has been charged with assault, armed robbery and entering a premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on June 1.
