Three people have been charged over multiple alleged armed robberies across Sydney’s south west overnight.
About 11.15pm (Tuesday 9 June 2015), a man and woman got into a taxi on Brooklyn Street at Burwood and asked to be driven to Guildford.
It’s alleged the pair threatened the driver with a knife and demanded cash before fleeing with money and the driver’s mobile phone.
Just before 12.30am (Wednesday 10 June 2015), a woman and two men entered a service station on Woodville Road at Villawood and allegedly demanded cash from the attendant while armed with knives.
They fled with cash and cigarettes.
It’s alleged the trio then attended a petrol station on the Hume Highway at Lansvale a short time later and threatened the attendants with the knives. They fled with the till and its contents.
Shortly before 2am, the group allegedly entered a third service station on the Cumberland Highway. The group threatened the attendant with a metal pipe before fleeing with cash.
Police from Fairfield and Cabramatta local area commands established crime scenes at the locations and commenced inquiries.
A short time later police stopped a taxi on Alinga Street at Cabramatta and arrested three people.
The trio, two men aged 18 and 20 and a 21-year-old woman, were taken to Cabramatta Police Station where they have all since been charged with robbery in company.
All three were refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 11 June 2015)
