Detectives from Browns Plains Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following investigations into the attempted armed robbery of a service station at Browns Plains on Tuesday night.

It will be alleged a man entered the Browns Plains Road business armed with a stick and made demands for cash around 7.20pm.

The man then threw the stick at the male attendant before fleeing the store empty-handed.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Information provided by the community following the release of CCTV footage led to the identification and subsequent arrest of a man this morning.

A 39-year-old Kingston man has been charged with attempted robbery is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
