Police have charged a man following the alleged armed robbery of a service station in Durack last night.

Police will allege that at about 11.15pm the man entered a business on Rosemary Street, allegedly producing a hammer and demanding money.

The console operator complied with the demands and the man fled the premises with an amount of cash.

The console operator was not physically injured during the incident.

An 18-year-old Inala man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, entering a premises with intent to commit an indictable offence and possess utensils.

He is due to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on July 2.
