Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at Chipping Norton yesterday.

About 6.25pm (Saturday 13 June 2015), a 42-year-old man was working at the counter of a supermarket on Epsom Road, when a man approached him.

The man demanded cash and threatened the attendant with a knife, before grabbing cash from the till.

The man then ran out of the store and south on Epsom Road.

Police were contacted and officers from Liverpool Local Area Command attended the location.

The attendant was not injured during the incident.

Specialist forensic officers attended and examined the scene.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or has information that may assist with their inquiries are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

 

The man was described to police as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern in appearance, about 183cm tall, wearing a black hooded jumper and carrying a red and white bag.
