Detectives from Darebin Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for information following two linked armed robberies last week.
Investigators have been told two men, one of them brandishing a handgun, stormed into a milk bar on Banff Street, Reservoir about 8.40pm on Thursday, 11 June.
They demanded cash from the loan attendant who turned the tables on the would be thieves by retrieving a baseball bat and chasing the two offenders from the store.
Officers believe that the duo then attended a milk bar on Johnson Street about 9pm.
They again threatened the loan attendant with the handgun and this time stole cash and cigarettes before leaving the store.
Fortunately no person was injured during the incidents.
Detectives have released CCTV and images of two men that they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
