Police are appealing for information after a taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint on Saturday night.

About 10.30pm (Saturday 20 June 2015), a 71-year-old male taxi driver stopped at an address in Jindalee Avenue.

When the driver got out of the taxi a man approached him. The man pulled out a knife and threatened the driver.

After handing over his wallet, the man with the knife reached into the taxi and took an amount of cash.

A female approached the man with the knife and both left the scene via an adjacent walkway. Both were last seen running towards Myora Place.

Police from Canobolas Local Area Command were notified of the incident and patrolled the area but were unable to locate them.

Detectives are investigating the incident and would like to speak with a man and a woman who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

The male is described as being of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander in appearance and about 170 to 180cm tall. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured hooded top, balaclava and dark pants.

The woman is also described as being of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander in appearance with a large build. She was last seen wearing a light-coloured long-sleeve hooded top.
