22 June 2015 – Armed Robbery – Licensed Premises – Acacia Ridge

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a licensed premises in Acacia Ridge overnight.

Initial information suggests at 9.50pm, three teenage males entered the drive-through area of the Beaudesert Road hotel.

One offender approached a male staff member and threatened him with what appeared to be a small axe and demanded the carton of liquor he was carrying.

The employee handed over the carton. He then attempted to use a phone when the armed male approached him.

The attendant managed to run into the building.

The three males left the scene on foot with a quantity of alcohol and were last seen headed across Beaudesert Road in a north-westerly direction.

No-one was physically injured.

Investigations are continuing.
