A man has been arrested after an alleged armed robbery in Sydney’s inner-west.
About 3.20am (Thursday 9 July 2015) a man entered a service station on Canterbury Road, Hurlstone Park, and allegedly threatened a male staff member, by saying he had a firearm.

The staff member was assaulted and handed over an amount of cash and other property.

Police from Ashfield Local Area Command arrived as the male was leaving the service station and after a foot pursuit arrested the man in nearby Crinan Street. A bag containing the proceeds of the robbery was also located nearby.
The staff member at the service station minor facial injuries. He was treated by Ambulance Paramedics at the scene before being taken to Canterbury Hospital for further treatment.

The arrested man has been taken to Burwood Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.
