Police have charged a man following the armed robbery of a hotel at Goodna earlier this year.

It will be alleged around 5.15am on March 19 two men confronted an employee outside the Queen Street establishment, threatening him with a firearm and demanding he unlock the door.

The staff member complied and the two men entered the premises and allegedly stole a sum of cash before fleeing the scene.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

A 41-year-old Kangaroo Point man has been charged with one count each of serious assault, deprivation of liberty and armed robbery.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
