East Gippsland Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released CCTV vision following an armed robbery in Bairnsdale last week.

Investigators have been told a man entered a service station, situated at the intersection of Main and Ligar Streets, about 6.45pm Wednesday 8 July.

The man was wearing a balaclava and threatened the lone attendant with a knife.

The employee was forced to put cash into a bag before the offender left the store and headed east on Nicholson Street.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police have released CCTV and images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
