Police are searching for a man following the armed robbery of a drive-through bottle shop at Inala last night.

Around 7pm a man entered the Freeman Road premises on foot before confronting an employee, producing a knife and making demands for money.

He then grabbed the male attendant by the neck and forced him to open the cash register.

The staff member complied with his demands and handed over a sum of cash from the till before leaving the premises on foot.

The 21-year-old employee was not physically injured.

Detectives would like to speak to a man who is described as being Pacific Islander in appearance, about 180cm tall with a solid build and wearing dark track pants, a dark t-shirt and white shoes.

Investigations are continuing.
