Just after 11.30pm police attended at the BP On The Run on Magill Road following reports that a man had entered the service station armed with a handgun and threatened staff.

The suspect stole a quantity of cash before running off in an easterly direction on Magill Road and south on Glynburn Road. No one was physically injured.

The suspect is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 25-30 years, slim build and 180cm tall. He was wearing a black hooded jumper with white zip, a black cap and black trousers.

Patrols conducted a search of the area using both the police helicopter and dog operations who tracked the suspect to Elford Street but were unable to locate him.
