Police are investigating after a shot was fired during an armed robbery in Paddington this morning.

About 5.45am today (Friday 7 August 2015), two offenders entered a newsagency on Oxford Street, Paddington, and threatened the male attendant.

They removed a small amount of cash from the register before running from the scene.

The attendant chased them onto William Street, when the offenders produced a firearm and discharged a shot.

The attendant stopped chasing them, and they were last seen getting into a vehicle on Victoria Street before driving from the scene. The attendant was uninjured.

Detectives from Surry Hills Local Area Command are still speaking to the man and no description of the offenders or vehicle is available at this stage.
