Police investigating two armed robberies in Sydney, one in which a shot was fired, have now released CCTV as their inquiries into the matter continue.

In the first incident, about 4.45am on Monday 3 August 2015, three men entered a convenience store on George Street, Sydney, and threatened the male shopkeeper with a shotgun, demanding cash.

When they were unable to open the register, the men took the shopkeeper’s wallet and drove from the scene in a white Volvo XC90 4WD, which is believed to be stolen.

The second robbery occurred about 5.40am on Friday 7 August 2015, when two men entered a newsagency on Oxford Street, Paddington, armed with a shotgun.

The men demanded cash from the male attendant. They left a short time later after taking money from the till and the worker’s wallet.

As the men ran from the store, the attendant followed. The armed man then fired a single shot toward the attendant before running from the scene.

No one was injured in either incident.

Officers from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit are now investigating both incidents and believe they may be linked.

Anyone with information about these matters is urged to come forward.
