Police have charged a man following a robbery at Scarborough this afternoon.

It will be alleged that at about 4.40pm the man entered a convenience store on Oxley Avenue and threatened the female staff member with a knife.   It is further alleged that he demanded money which she complied with and the man fled the store on foot.

Police located a 22-year-old Scarborough man a short time later not far from the store and arrested him.

The man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and is due to appear at the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Monday.
