Police are investigating an armed robbery on Sydney’s north shore.

About 11.10pm yesterday (Tuesday 25 August 2015), a man entered a supermarket on the Pacific Highway, Lindfield, and approached one of the registers.

The man produced a knife and threatened the female checkout operator, demanding cash.

The staff member handed over a security bag containing an amount of cash, before the man walked out the front of the store and left the area in an unknown direction.

The man was wearing a black hooded jumper with a balaclava, dark tracksuit pants, pink dishwashing gloves and sunglasses.

Detectives from North Shore Local Area Command are conducting inquiries into the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
