Police have released CCTV following an armed robbery of a woman in Campsie last night.

About 10.45pm (Wednesday 9 September), a 48-year-old woman was using an ATM on Beamish Street, when a man approached her.

The man threatened the woman with a knife and demanded cash, before she handed over a sum of cash and a mobile phone.

The man attempted to steal her car before running from the scene

The woman was treated for a minor cut to her face at Canterbury Hospital.

Officers attached to Campsie Local Area Command attended the scene and commenced an investigation.

Detectives have now released CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist with inquires.

The man is depicted as being aged between 30 and 40, about 180cm tall with a medium build and a short beard. He was seen wearing a dark coloured jacket and a blue hat.
