Police are investigating after an attempt was made to rob a Beenleigh licenced premises  last night.

Around 8.55pm a man entered the Hanover Street premises, walked behind the bar and stood beside a staff member. The man pressed an unknown object against the male staff member’s side and made demands for money.

A second male staff member entered the bar area whereupon the man approached him and again demanded money.

The man’s demands were refused and he walked away empty handed.

Neither staff member was physically harmed.

The man is described as having a tanned complexion, 170cm tall and heavy set. He was wearing a fluoro orange work shirt with reflective strips, gloves and had his face obscured by a black balaclava.
