Sturt Police have arrested two men after a taxi driver was robbed at Mitchell Park this morning, and are now appealing for two men who came to the aid of the driver to come forward.

Just after 1am, police were called to Marion Road near the Marion Hotel after a report of two men allegedly assaulting a taxi driver.  The men stole cash before fleeing.

A short time later, another patrol stopped and spoke to two men matching the description of the suspects in nearby Parkholme.

A 20-year-old man from Glengowrie and a 19-year-old man from Morphettville were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. Both were refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 21 September.

The taxi driver was taken to the Finders Medical Centre and treated for minor facial injuries.

Two men who attempted to intervene were also allegedly assaulted by the arrested men, and were seen on CCTV footage near the incident. They left the scene prior to police arrival.

The older of the two men was wearing a black beanie, grey/white chequered jumper, white shirt and grey pants. The younger male has light-coloured hair and was wearing a black jacket with white trim, white shirt and grey pants.

Police would like to speak to the men as they may be able to assist in the investigation.
