20 September 2015 – Arrest – Handbag Snatch – Adelaide CBD

Police have charged a man after he allegedly robbed an elderly woman of her handbag in the Adelaide CBD today.

Just after midday an elderly woman was walking along Pulteney Street when a man grabbed her handbag from her walking frame. The woman subsequently fell over and the suspect ran off with her handbag.

A couple driving along the street at the time, witnessed the incident and a man got out of his car and chased the suspect into Austin Street. The suspect was apprehended and held until the patrol arrived.

The elderly woman received minor injuries.

A 37-year-old man from Flinders Park has been charged with aggravated robbery.  He has been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.
