A man has been arrested and charged following an attempted robbery at Salisbury Downs.

Just after 12pm on Tuesday 22 September, a man allegedly armed with a hammer, entered the Caltex service station on Salisbury Highway and threatened staff before leaving empty handed.

Enquiries by Elizabeth Police and Serious Crime Task Force led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man from Salisbury East.

He has been charged with aggravated robbery and refused bail.

He will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
