Police are investigating an armed robbery in Yagoona.

About 2am (Sunday 27 September 2015), a man entered the service station on the Hume Highway and threatened the male attendant with a large knife.

He was handed an amount of cash before he fled the scene. He was last seen on foot running east on the Hume Highway.

The attendant was uninjured.

The man is described as Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 30 years old, with short black hair, wearing a grey hooded jumper and long grey pants.

Police from Bankstown Local Area Command are conducting inquiries into the incident.
