Detectives have charged a man following investigations into the alleged armed robbery of a convenience store at Maryborough yesterday afternoon.
Police will allege the man entered the Walker Street premises around 4pm and threatened a staff member with scissors.
Another customer entered the store and attempted to assist the staff member when he was assaulted by the man.
The man then left the store. The staff member was not physically injured and the customer received minor scratches to the upper torso.
An 18-year-old Tinana man has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, assault and stealing. He is due to appear in Maryborough Magistrates Court today, September 30.
