A man has been charged following investigations into an alleged attempted armed robbery at Raymond Terrace earlier this year.

On Monday 13 July 2015, a man entered a pharmacy on Benjamin Lee Drive armed with an electronic control device.

It’s alleged the man confronted the pharmacist before fleeing empty-handed.

Police were alerted and officers from Port Stephens Local Area Command commenced inquiries.

Following investigations, an arrest warrant was issued for a 20-year-old man.

About 5.45pm yesterday (Thursday 1 October 2015), police attended a home on Richardson Road at Raymond Terrace where they arrested the man.

He was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station where he was charged with attempted armed robbery; and revocation of parole.

The Raymond Terrace man was refused bail to appear at Raymond Terrace Local Court today (Friday 2 October 2015).
