Police are appealing for public assistance following the armed robbery of a service station on Mount Cotton Road in Mount Cotton Road this evening.

At 8pm a man entered the service station and produced what is believed to have been a handgun, before demanding money from a male attendant.

The attendant complied with the man’s demands, handing over a sum of cash.

The man then fled the scene on foot, heading in the direction of Valley Way.

The 25-year-old male attendant was not physically harmed during the incident.

The man is described as dark skinned, approximately 163cm tall and of slim build.
